ON CAMPUS EXPECTATIONS
Wherever you go on campus you need to always be aware that you are representing not only yourself but our program. I realize the cultural norm is to use foul language as part of regular conversation no matter where a person is or who they are around. If you are one of those people I ask that you make a concerted effort to clean it up. It is not supposed to be a normal thing for this University or this program.
Make an extra effort to always treat everyone with respect. There are certainly some frustrating people walking this earth, but I ask you to walk away from any potential bad situations and give yourself a chance to calm down before you possibly say the wrong thing to the wrong person.
Showing complete respect to your professors and the administration at the University is paramount. We have worked extremely hard to have a good relationship with the faculty. You should always immediately defer to their better judgment of a situation and then come talk to Coach Bottenfield if there is an issue.
Please don’t think that because you’re an athlete that you get preferential treatment at the University. You are the same as every other student on campus just as your coach’s get treated the same as every faculty member.
